ASHRAE will advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration and related human factors to serve the evolving needs of the public and ASHRAE.

    • Strategic Goal Development

    The strategic goals for ASHRAE are developed through input from all parts of the Society. This input is collected through meetings with the membership such as CRCs and Society meetings. The ASHRAE think tank is another source. As well, Society actively monitors the HVAC and R industry for opportunities that would affect ASHRAE’s strategy.

    New strategic goals can be undertaken whenever they are required. All input on strategic direction is welcome and can be given to any Society board member. Additional information on the Strategic Planning process can be found in the ASHRAE Planning Policy (ROB 100-111-001).

    1. Revise the Handbook series to make the Handbooks more relevant to ASHRAE’s primary customers

    2. Create a comprehensive ASHRAE business plan

    3. Develop and maintain products and services to meet the needs of ASHRAE’s primary beneficiaries

    4. Create a culture of innovation and flexibility within ASHRAE that recognizes and responds to technological change

    5. Optimize the use of volunteers' time
