Construction Engineering

Watching a project develop is one of the most exciting phases of the HVAC&R industry. Construction engineers are responsible for bringing to life the concepts and designs developed by designers and presented through blueprints and specification documents. The field of Construction Engineering offers encouraging opportunities to women and minorities alike.

Individuals entering this field have a background in technical issues while possessing business skills. Contractors need to keep a tight schedule and run a tight budget. They also need to be aware of quality issues and environmental issues, as well as legal requirements. Most individuals hold a 2-year or 4-year technical degree and have extensive experience before entering this field.
