Environmental Issues
Each of us is concerned about environmental issues. Those who work in the building sector are especially concerned
and actively involved with maintaining and improving our environment. In less than a decade after the atmospheric
ozone depletion was discovered, the industry's efforts to move away from the CFCs that caused the problem can be
measured on a global scale. Actions such as reducing the potential of global warming and improving the quality of
urban air, while maintaining the quality of our drinking water resources, are major influences on the design and operation
of a modern building. New methods of cooling buildings are being developed and implemented that do not involve CFCs.
