IMPORTANT TIPS FOR SEARCHING THE FOUR-VOLUME ASHRAE HANDBOOKCD:

Quick Summary:

To use the Search tool, you must first select any of the four I-P or SI volumes on the HandbookCD.

The first time you use the HandbookCD, clicking "I agree" in the License Agreement will take you to a page from which you can choose to access the I-P or SI edition of any of the four Handbooks.

If you're working in inches and pounds, select any book under "I-P Edition". (If you're working in metric units, choose any book under "SI Edition".) This will reveal the Table of Contents for the book you chose, but any searches will produce a list of hits drawn from all four books.

Any time you use the HandbookCD thereafter, the search will "know" from which Edition to produce your search results.

"FIND" vs. "SEARCH":

• Acrobat Reader with Search has two different icons for searching, depending on your need.
• The FIND tool appears in the toolbar as a pair of binoculars. This tool will only find items in the document you are currently viewing.
• The SEARCH icon appears as a pair of binoculars with a list in the background. It searches all the chapters in all four volumes at once, and brings up a hyperlinked list of all chapters containing the search term.
